The launch by students on the Level 2 Diploma and Extended Diploma Level 3 courses is the first step towards a fully operating travel agency, when  it is hoped students will be able to sell holidays as well as making recommendations.

The current service for staff, students and the local community includes providing recommendations for holiday destinations as well as advice on climate, national holidays, currency, and offer important information.

Barcelona Trip

This March students on BTEC Extended Diploma in Travel & Tourism Level 3, years 1 & 2, went on a fantastic residential visit to Barcelona, Spain.   On the first day the group travelled from Redcar to Newcastle Airport, flying to Gerona Airport.   When they touched down they headed to the popular tourist destination of Lloret de Mar.   The resort, set 45 minutes outside Barcelona, was a beautiful base for the students and offered an easy journey into the city.

ON the second day the group headed to the city early, first stop the magnificent gothic cathedral Sagrada Familia.   Second stop with to the beautiful scenic Park Guell before heading to the Gaudi Museum to see some of the work by the influential designer and artist.

Day three was a visit to the famous football stadium, Nou Camp, where students were given a guided tour of the arena.   Next it was off to the Olympic Village where students were also given guided tours of the area that housed the athletes for the 1992 games.

The last day was a chill out before heading to the airport to return home.   Students were involved in the planning and organisation of the trip.   They planned a welcome meeting for holiday makers, made a transport transfer link announcement and saw over seas holiday reps in action.
