An award of Teesside University delivered in partnership with Redcar & Cleveland College.
This course is approved by Standards Verification UK as meeting the new subject specifications for teachers of adult literacy. It provides the opportunity for the continuing professional development of qualified teachers working in the field of teaching adult literacy (including the 14 – 19 age range) in the lifelong learning sector. You will complete 75 hours of teaching practice and be observed at least four times. You will also need to identify a workplace learning mentor. Completion of this award can contribute to the maintenance of Licence to Practice and students can apply for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status.
