Sustainable living and the exploration and development of environmental technologies are vital for the future of the north east, UK and beyond, as we take steps to reduce the carbon footprint and educate society regarding the need to be more economic with the use of power.

Redcar & Cleveland College has invested heavily to support the emerging renewable energies sector, providing courses which enable qualified tradesman to up-skill in the design, installation and maintenance of the most commonly-used systems in the UK.

Accredited by SummitSkills and The National Skills Academy in Environmental Technologies, the College is playing a major role in transforming the ability of businesses in the building services engineering and plumbing sectors to access key training skills to Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) standards.

NSA

The College offers a range of short accredited training courses in solar domestic hot water heating systems, ground and air source heat pump installation, Photovoltaic (PV) systems and rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling systems, which will be offered on a regular rolling cycle with the option for additional courses to be provided at the convenience of businesses.

With the College’s own fully functional house on site fitted with the latest Viessmann equipment, trainees can see a range of readily available domestic market technologies in operation and the benefits they bring.
