Introduction

With modern and specialised engineering facilities, at Redcar & Cleveland College you will be taught by expert staff who will support you to get your career off to a flying start.

What will I learn

This course will provide you with a range of engineering skills and knowledge. You will learn about health and safety, principles of engineering and a range of topics about the maintenance of machine, hydraulic, pneumatic systems and the commissioning of wind turbines, solar thermal and solar photovoltaic systems.

How will I learn

This course offers a wide range of practical content which is delivered in our specialist engineering workshops. In addition to this you will also take part in theoretical sessions, work placement, enrichment and tutorials.

What's next

After you have completed this course you could progress into higher education to an engineering related degree. You could also look to secure yourself a higher apprenticeship in engineering or enter employment.

Additional Information

Full-time 16-18 year olds who do not have a grade 4/C or above in maths and/or English, will attend weekly sessions with specialist tutors to work towards the relevant qualification(s). This is really useful to support you on your main course and is really valued by employers.

We have strong links with local employers who provide guest talks, work placements and apprenticeships.
