Early Years Sector Endorsed Foundation Degree (FdA)
Foundation Degree
An award of Teesside University delivered in partnership with Redcar & Cleveland College and endorsed by SureStart.
This course is appropriate for assistants currently working in early years education (birth to eight years). You will gain up-to-date knowledge and skills to contribute new work enterprise to your work role. The degree responds to the children’s workforce strategy to develop the best qualified people to be working with our youngest children.
This programme is a Foundation degree for early years' practitioners. You will be at least 18 and have two years’ experience of working with children in a variety of contexts. The Foundation degree enables you to progress onto the final year of the BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies degree studied at University.
The Foundation degree aims to develop subject knowledge and reflection on practical skills in relation to early years. Students will engage in reflecting on professional practice in order to develop increased expertise when working with children.
A range of assessment methods will be used including presentations, case studies and written assignments.
