A TEESSIDE college is celebrating success as its apprenticeship team is honoured at a national awards ceremony.
For the second consecutive year Redcar & Cleveland College’s apprenticeship team were named as finalists in the 2017 Apprenticeships4England awards.
The team travelled to London earlier this week for the prestigious ceremony, taking place during national apprenticeship week, and were presented with the silver award in the best college category.
To qualify the team had to provide evidence on how they had continued to show outstanding achievement, best practice and excellence in apprenticeship delivery across 2016.
Redcar & Cleveland College apprenticeship team manager, Steve Winterburn, is proud of the work his team has done across the past year which has led to another award.
Steve said: “We are honoured to be recognised for this prestigious award once again.
“It’s a great achievement and I am really pleased for the whole team, as it’s their hard work over the past year that has seen us achieve this award.
“We know that there are some fantastic colleges nominated for the final and we had a brilliant evening being a part of the event. We were also very honoured to be the only northern college named in the final.”
With the Government aiming to create another three million apprenticeships by 2020, Redcar & Cleveland College has focused heavily on promoting its offering in this area and building partnerships with employers across a variety of sectors, including IT, engineering, manufacturing, green energy and sport.
