Introduction

If you enjoy working with people in a varied, exciting working environment, employment in the Public Services can provide a truly satisfying career. Our courses combine classroom-based study with exercise, sport, outdoor activities and residential trips to provide a realistic introduction to the skills and qualities needed to pursue demanding, but highly rewarding jobs in any of the public services.

What will I learn

Our level 3 course is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in the public services or go to university on completion. The course combines both theory and practical health and fitness, outdoor activity and expedition sessions. Topics covered on this course include understanding discipline, the impact of war, conflict and terrorism, planning and management of major incidents and police powers.

How will I learn

This course offers a wide range of practical and theory sessions which are delivered outdoors, in classrooms and our gym. In addition to this you will also take part in theoretical sessions, work placement, enrichment and tutorials.

What's next

On completion of this course you could look to pursue a range of careers such as an: police officer, army officer, royal navy officer, firefighter or royal air force officer.

Additional Information

Maths and English Full-time 16-18 year olds who do not have a grade 4/C or above in maths and/or English, will attend weekly sessions with specialist tutors to work towards the relevant qualification(s). This is really useful to support you on your main course and is really valued by employers.

You will taught by our team of experienced tutors who have a background and skill set in the public services.
You will have the opportunity to use our gym and on-site assault course to improve your fitness.
We have strong links with the public services who provide work placements, apprenticeships and guest talks.
