How we monitor and report on your progress
All Year 10 and 11 students who study at Redcar & Cleveland College receive termly reports from their tutors. For those who have left school aged 16-18 reports are sent directly to parents or guardians at home. These reports are sent to the students’ school and they review students’ progress towards their qualification, their attendance and comments on their behaviour and effort. The College’s ‘Cause for Concern’ form is used to record any incident which the tutor feels needs to be brought to the attention of the school. The matter is then dealt with through the school’s disciplinary procedure.
Praise Postcards
Tutors can award Praise Postcards for students who show excellent standards in their work, effort, attendance and attitude. These Postcards are sent to students at home and a copy is sent to the school. These Praise Postcards contribute to the selection of nominees for and winners of the Shine Awards, which are presented at the annual Celebration of Achievement ceremony.
Redcar & Cleveland College holds an annual Celebration of Achievement for its 14-16 year old students. Nominations for the ‘Shine’ Awards are received for either Most Outstanding Student, Most Committed Student, or Most Improved Student each year and a winner is chosen from each curriculum area.
