This Access to Higher Education in Health Fast Track Diploma is a new and exciting opportunity for people who missed the initial enrolment in September or have just decided to go to university. The fast track is part-time and students complete this course in six months.
This course will take place on a Tues and Wed daytime, 9:20am-2:30pm, OR a Tues and Thurs evening, 5:15pm-8:30pm.
What will I learn
The diploma is made up of a series of units which are individually graded.
Subjects will include Level 2 and level 3 Maths. And specialist subject areas such as Health Promotion, Human Biology, Professional Skills in Healthcare, Contemporary Care Practice, Values Based Health Care and a Health and Care Research Project.
How will I learn
Class sessions which involve lectures and demonstrations as well as interactive learning using IT and Teams. Due to the intense learning on this qualification Learners are supported and encouraged to develop independent academic learning techniques.
On successful completion of the access diploma students can apply to university for a place on a range of health-related degrees or other higher education degree programmes. These include nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, dental nurse and physiotherapist.
The production of an electronic portfolio of evidence is crucial. Assessment involves the writing of essays reports, presentations, research and health promotion activities.
