Apprenticeships: An Employer Information Pack

Apprenticeships: An Employer Information Pack

Apprenticeships are paid training programs which are a mix of on and off the job training. Employees on an apprenticeship program spend most of their time with their employer, with other training completed at College on a day-release basis. The time spent at College is dependent on the individual apprenticeship and the needs of the employer.

What are the benefits to your business?

Training apprentices is often more cost effective than hiring skilled staff and can lead to lower overall training and recruitment costs. Apprentices are more motivated – they have made an active choice to learn from, and work with, you. 92% of employers who employ apprentices believe that Apprenticeships lead to a more motivated and satisfied workforce. Funding is available for businesses to train apprentices; the size of contribution varies depending on the sector and age of the apprentice. You will be helping to shape a young person’s life and the future workforce of your industry.
