Introduction

The Level 3 Diploma in Childcare enables you to gain valuable knowledgeand experience of children from birth to 7 years. On completion you can explore a number of career pathways such as working as a teaching assistant, health visitor assistant, social worker or family support worker. This course also includes a course trip to Romainia, to work with orphanages to deliver sessions for their children.

What will I learn

This course will provide you with the skills needed to work with babies and young children through a combination of theory and practical sessions. You will learn about child development, safeguarding, health and safety. You will also develop your skills by completing work placements during the course.

How will I learn

You will learn through a range of formats including lectures and assignments, group work, work placements, demonstrations and guest speakers.

What's next

After you have completed your course you could progress on to our FdA Early Years (Sector Endorsed) course at the College or enter employment within schools, childcare, family support, local authority or nursery settings.

Additional Information

As part of your programme of study you will be required to complete work experience. This will consist of 1 day per week plus set block placement. You will be supported by the college’s placement officers to find you a suitable employer.

You will have the opportunity to learn your skills in our specialist childcare classrooms, nursery and craft rooms.
This course will provide you with the opportunity to complete a work placement to develop your skills and knowledge.
Sessions will be delivered by a team of highly experienced tutors who will support to reach your full potential.
