The Sir William Turner Learning Resource Centre is located at the hub of the College, on the first floor. All students will be given an induction to the LRC explaining our services and the code of conduct. We hold a wide range of course-related books, journals and newspapers, as well as a small collection of modern fiction. Students can also sign up for an Athens account, which gives access to a number of online databases, with useful research information, and an extensive collection of e-books.
The Learning Resource Centre is fully computerised; your student badge is your library ticket. We also provide a laminating and binding service at competitive prices. The LRC staff are here to help you; the number one rule is to ask!
You can use the Library catalogue to find out what resources are available on a particular subject.
The catalogue will tell you what we have, where to find it and whether it is currently available or out on loan. This can be accessed within the College through Blackboard using the Heritage online link found on the Learning Resource Centre page in E-Resources.
Here, you can also look at your library account, reserve an item or cancel a reservation. All this can be done by clicking the account tab on heritage. A pin number is required which is available from the LRC on request.
The e-Library is the College’s collection of electronic resources available on the Library Services area on Blackboard. If you are a college student, you have access to our growing collection of quality online information including:
full-text academic journals
databases of images, maps, statistics, datasets and other resources The e-resources are password protected. Please ask the LRC staff for details.
