We provide free travel for all full-time students under the age of 19. Will their course cost anything?

Will their course cost anything?

No, there are no course fees for post-16 courses providing your child is under 18 when studying.

If my child attends college will it affect my benefits?

Your Child Benefit can carry on after your child reaches 16, if they’re staying in full-time, ‘non-advanced’ education at school or college, or starting an ‘approved’ training course. Find out more at www.gov.uk or speak to our Student Services team.

Can my child access additional learning support?

We’re here to help your son or daughter in any way we can. The College can provide support for students who have learning needs such as dyslexia and dyscalculia. We are able to make any reasonable adjustments to support learners with more complex needs and disabilities.

What other financial and pastoral support is available?

We’re about more than just learning – we’re here to help your son or daughter in any way we can. The College offers a wide range of support to help students succeed on their course.

All students have a Learner Progress Tutor and are supported by Student Services, with access to individual welfare advice, learning support and careers guidance.

How can I help my child apply?

We’d love to meet you and your family at one of our Open Evenings so that you can get a feel for Redcar & Cleveland College and how we can support your child’s future.
