Introduction

This course is designed for students who have completed a level 2 Plumbing qualification as it will enhance the learner’s prior knowledge. The learners will embed previous knowledge into system designs and practical elements of the qualification enabling them to gain a wider range of Plumbing knowledge

What will I learn

Building on the plumbing skills developed on our level 2 course you will learn about complex cold water systems, complex hot water systems including gas and oil boilers, biomass and solar thermal. You will also learn about central heating systems and above ground drainage.

How will I learn

This course offers a wide range of practical content which is supported by theoretical sessions. You will also take part in work placements, enrichments and tutorials.

What's next

On completion of this course you could look to pursue a range of careers such as an: domestic plumber, heating engineer, gas installer, project manager or bathroom installer.

Additional Information

Full-time 16-18 year olds who do not have a grade 4/C or above in Maths and/or English, will attend weekly sessions with specialist tutors to work towards the relevant qualification(s). This is really useful to support you on your main course and is really valued by employers.

We have strong links with local employerswho provide guest talks, work placementsand apprenticeships.
