Careers Advice and Guidance

The College has a highly qualified, experienced careers guidance team who will help you make informed decisions about your future. The College has the Matrix Standard accreditation which confirms the high standard of advice and guidance delivered by the team. We will help to raise your career aspirations and encourage you to reach your full potential by supporting you with your choice of career, learning, work and life goals.

Here for you, all year:

  • We offer individual support when planning your next steps, whether updating your CV, applying for university or preparing your career pathway
  • 1 to 1 appointments, group sessions and phone discussions with experienced staff
  • We can provide you with information about the current labour market, apprenticeships, qualifications and higher education

If you require impartial information, advice or guidance about education, training, careers or job search, benefits, University Open Days etc., staff in Student Services will help you. It is situated in the main foyer, near the restaurant where you can access computer and paper-based information systems or arrange an interview with a specialist Careers Adviser.

The National Careers Service

The National Careers Service is the publicly funded careers service for adults and young people (aged 13 or over) in England. They provide information, advice and guidance on learning, training, career choice, career development, job search, and the labour market.

The service can be accessed online, by telephone, and face to face (for people aged 19 and over).

Redcar and Cleveland College achieved college wide re-accreditation to the Matrix Quality Standard in May 2019.

This is a nationally recognised quality mark for information, advice and guidance services and recognition of the high standard of services that the College provides to its customers.

Alys Tregear is the designated Careers Leader for the Education Training Collective (Etc.), in which Redcar & Cleveland College are incorporated within.
