Introduction

As an Electrician you are responsible for testing, fitting and repairing wiring and circuits and installing new electrical infrastructures. Electricians usually work in residential homes, public buildings or offices, ensuring that wires and circuits are safe, repairing faults in the electrics and installing new circuits after building work is complete.

What will I learn

During this apprenticeship you will learn and be able to install, use and test a wide range of electrical equipment and systems which may include switchboards, motors, cables, fuses, thermal relays, fault current protection switches, heating, lighting, air conditioning and metering equipment as well as crime and fire alarm systems and renewable energy technologies. Our initial assessment and your GCSE results will help inform us of your ability and what support we can offer to get you to the level required.
