Introduction

The use of computer aided design (CAD) systems in industry has become an essential part of the modern working environment. It is used at all stages of the design process, from conceptualisation and production of working drawings to the production of virtual reality images. This unit aims to further your understanding of the CAD Parametric Modelling environment.

What will I learn

There are six learning outcomes to this unit. The learner will be able to: • Use complex sketching and 2D constraints to create features • Create and edit work features and use complex feature commands • Create and modify simple table-driven parts and assemblies • Use motion and driven assembly constraints • Add additional information to a drawing layout to aid the interpretation of design intent • Create presentation quality displays of parts and assemblies.

How will I learn

You will learn through practical tutor led tutorials as well as exploring the Inventor software.

What's next

You will be proficient to seek employment upon completion and can also progress onto the Level 3 Parametric Modelling
