Introduction

The BTEC Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training prepares trainee teachers and trainers to teach in a wide range of contexts. To achieve the qualification, there is a requirement for teaching practice that requires observation and assessment of performance. You may be already teaching in Further Education, adult and community education, work based learning or the voluntary sector or be a technician/support staff in Further Adult Education, training, personnel in industry, uniformed services or HM forces.

What will I learn

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training builds on the knowledge and skills developed as part of the Level 3 Award in Education and Training. Achieving this certificate will provide evidence that you have acquired the skills and knowledge in understanding the roles and responsibilities in education and training, be able to plan to meet the needs of individuals in education and training and to demonstrate, through observations, that you have the skills and competence to teach to a good or better standard.
