For the Cert Ed you will need: Minimum level 3 in your chosen specialist route English at level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) Hold a current Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate Confirmation of 100 teaching hours (40 hours for year 1 and 60 hours for year 2) Confirmation of a mentor in your workplace For the Professional Graduate Certificate in Education you will need: A degree (2.2 or above) English at level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) Hold a current Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate Confirmation of 100 teaching hours (40 hours for year 1 and 60 hours for year 2) Confirmation of a mentor in your workplace

Introduction

This programme is designed for lecturers, teachers and trainers who are working full, part-time or voluntarily in the postcompulsory education and training sector (PCET). This includes further education, higher education and adult education, private trainers and large organisations with their own training department.

What will I learn

Course modules: • Evidence Informed Learning and Teaching • Developing Learning and Teaching • Thinking and Learning in Teaching • Enhancing Learning and Teaching

How will I learn

You will experience a variety of methods of teaching and learning including lectures, workshops and seminars. You must complete a minimum of 120 hours of teaching practice in an appropriate teaching environment/placement.

What's next

After successful completion of this course you can progress onto the BA (Hons) Education and Training degree programme. This course is a continuing professional development award for teachers, working in the Lifelong Learning Sector. Completion of this award can contribute to the maintenance of License to Practice, Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills status.
