Introduction

This is a course developed for trainee technicians and engineers, designers and production personnel working in a manufacturing or process environment within the mechanical engineering environment. It develops key underpinning knowledge, skills and understanding associated with in the process and petro–chemical industries.

Level 4 modules: • Engineering Mathematics • Engineering Design • Engineering Science • Managing a Professional Engineering Project • Fundamental of Thermodynamics and Heat Engines • Application of Pneumatics and Hydraulics* • Fluid Mechanics* • Mechanical Principles* *Modules may vary.

You will be taught through seminars, lectures, interactive workshop sessions and our virtual learning environment with allocated tutorial support which focuses on study skills.

What's next

You can progress onto either the HND Mechanical Engineering course at Redcar & Cleveland College or a degree programme at Teesside University.

Additional Information

You are required to complete two pieces of assessment in each module which can be in the form of written assignments, laboratory reports, time-constrained assessments and some vocation-specific modules carry an end of unit examination.
