Redcar & Cleveland College are offering a five-week Pre-Access course starting on Monday 12 November at 9.30am. This Level 2 Gateway to Access course allows students to test the water when it comes to furthering their studies.

Ralph Booth, Access to Humanities and Social Sciences Lecturer, said:

“Pre-Access is aimed at those with few qualifications who may regret not achieving earlier or are looking to refresh their skills and want to get back into studying.

“During the five-week course, we cover English, maths and also personal development. We encourage learners to lay out their goals, plan actions for how to achieve them and reflect on what brought them to this point in their studies and how they plan to progress.”

This course prepares learners for the Access to Higher Education courses that Redcar & Cleveland College offer. Ralph added:

“When learners complete the Pre-Access course they are guaranteed a place on one of our two Access to Higher Education courses should they wish to further their studies. The options are Health and Humanities & Social Sciences, which can lead to careers in fields such as psychology, criminology, social work, mental health, nursing and radiography.”

To find out more about the Pre-Access course, come along to our Open Event tomorrow evening to speak to Ralph or contact him on 01642 777071. You can click here to download the course information sheet.

Don’t worry if you’re not ready to start the course this Monday. Students are able to start the course on Monday 19 November if preferred.
