Visitors to Redcar & Cleveland College received an insight into the demands of working life in the engineering industries.

Employers, potential students and industry leaders came together to talk about the needs of the sector and the value of progressing into higher education engineering training.

The Educating Engineers: Upskilling the Workforce event included an update from guest speaker NEPIC Director Felix O’Hare, discussing the needs of local industry and emerging skills gaps within the engineering sector.

While the College’s Head of Construction, Engineering and the Service Industries, Neil Bowen, introduced future plans for engineering within the College including new training opportunities.

Redcar & Cleveland College offers a variety of engineering courses, including higher education opportunities in partnership with Teesside University and apprenticeships.
