Introduction

The AAT is recognised throughout the business world as a credible and established professional body. It is a qualification which accurately reflects competence in the workplace and continues to bear the hallmarks of quality and high standards. Initially you will complete a five-week introduction to AAT. This will include an Access Award to bookkeeping L1 (at no further cost). You will be required to fully achieve this award before progressing to the full level 2 certificate. This is a course for Trainee Accountancy Technicians and those individuals who have an interest in pursuing a career in Accountancy.

The course covers: • Introduction to bookkeeping • Principles of bookkeeping controls • Principles of costing • The business environment

How will I learn

You will take part in Classroom based learning supervised by a tutor: e.g. classroom teaching; working through real-life scenarios that support this learning. There is an expectation that you will also commit to additional learning outside of college that will help under pinning knowledge for this qualification. Your tutor will also provide tutorial time to ensure you are on track assessment task and support you in completing the unit examinations.

What's next

On successful completion of the Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting, students may progress to the Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
