Huge changes are coming to the beauty sector. In this fast-evolving field, practitioners will be required to review their training and certifications to ensure they meet the new quality standards and regulations set by the government.
The impact of the new legislation will likely lead to a large proportion of those working in the sector seeking more in-depth, high-level training. Even practitioners who have taken short, single-day training courses will likely need to upskill to continue performing advanced beauty treatments on their clients.
At Redcar and Cleveland College, we are the only provider in the North-east offering a fully certificated VTCT (iTec) level 4 advanced training course for beauty practitioners. Our Diploma in Advanced Aesthetic Treatments and Salon Management runs over 33 weeks on Mondays from 09:00am until 4:00pm.*
With greater awareness of advanced aesthetic treatments and more demand from clients, practitioners can boost their repertoire and succeed in the industry. With more skills training and certifications comes a higher earning potential for those who do meet the new standard.
Level 4 training covers radiofrequency, chemical peels, laser hair removal, dermaplaning and microneedling on clients. Learners will also study health and safety, client care management, sales, operations and PR, providing them with the tools to start their own business in the industry.
*To be eligible for Level 4 training, learners must be level 3 beauty qualified and aged 18+
