Introduction

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in beauty therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own salon services.

What will I learn

This qualification has been specifically designed to develop knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned by covering the following mandatory units, facial skincare, waxing, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, manicure, pedicure, client care and health and safety. Underpinning this qualification, you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety practice and you can also choose optional units that cover effective salon reception duties and displaying stock to promote retail sales.

How will I learn

This course offers a wide range of practical and theory sessions which are delivered in our specialist salons and classrooms. In addition to this you will also take part in work placement within a local salon and also enrichment sessions and activities.

What's next

On completion of this qualification, you will be able to progress to further your learning onto one of our Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy or Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies.

Additional Information

Kit and uniform is organised through College at enrolment. Beauty kits will consist of a combination of tools, materials and equipment required to practice your skills both in College sessions, as well as outside of the classroom. Uniform: Tunic, trousers and flat black closed toe shoes.

You will learn your skillset from experienced tutors in our specialist beauty salons in the College

You will have the opportunity to gain experience working in our on-site salon, Mosaic, as well as within a local salon setting

We have strong links with local employers who provide work placements, possible job opportunities and also offer advice as guest speakers
