Introduction

Building on skills developed on the Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations, you will learn about health and safety, principles of engineering and mechanical manufacturing engineering. You will also learn key engineering skills such as machining materials by turning, milling and grinding. This is a popular course for students wishing to develop practical skills for a career in advanced amnufacturing.

What will I learn

On this course you will learn about engineering principles, delivery of engineering processes safely, engineering product design and manufacture and computer aided design (CAD) in engineering, electronic devices and circuits and principles of fluid mechanics.

How will I learn

You will learn through a range of formats including practical activities, group discussions, self-study periods as well as completing work placements, enrichment and tutorial sessions.

Additional Information

Full-time 16-18year olds who do not have a grade 4/C or above in maths and/or English, will attend weekly sessions with specialist tutors to work towards the relevant qualification(s). This is really useful to support you on your main course and is really valued by employers.
