Introduction

Choosing to study engineering is a great way to open up loads of future career opportunities. Whether you want to work in industry, specialise in a particular area, or eventually go on to run your own consultancy firm, our courses will give you an understanding of the specialist work related skills that are in demand by many employers.

What will I learn

This course will teach you both the practical skills and theory knowledge required to work and support regional growth in emerging and future sectors in the renewable and clean energy industries. You will learn the principles of wind power generation, air source heat pumps and energy efficiency systems alongside traditional fundamental principles of engineering.

How will I learn

This course is predominantly theory based with some practical content which is delivered in our specialist engineering workshops. In addition to this you will also take part in work placements, enrichment and tutorials.

What's next

After you have completed this course you could progress into higher education to an engineering related degree. You could also look to secure yourself an apprenticeship in engineering or enter employment.

Additional Information

Full-time 16-18 year olds who do not have a grade 4/C or above in maths and/or English, will attend weekly sessions with specialist tutors to work towards the relevant qualification(s). This is really useful to support you on your main course and is really valued by employers.
