When it comes to fantastic hair and makeup, students at Redcar & Cleveland College have proven they are top class.



Whisked off to the Association of Hairdressers & Therapists (AHT) North East Regional Hair and Beauty Competitions, the team were delighted to bring home a win.

Wowing judges in the Fantasy category, Hairdressing student Alla Loughran took first place. While scooping third place in the same category was fellow Hairdressing student Karen Manley.

Both are now headed to the national finals taking place in Blackpool next month.

“It felt amazing to have a win and a third place,” said Hairdressing lecturer Emma Fletcher.

“The students have worked really hard, they have put in a lot of time and effort. To see them placed was worth all the sweat and tears.”

Ten students from Redcar & Cleveland College headed to the regional heat at the Federation Brewery in Gateshead with competitors in the Fantasy, Body Art and Team Bridal categories.
