Introduction

How would you like to turn your passion for sport into a future career? Our Sport and Leisure courses will help you discover the exciting opportunities available in this dynamic industry. From teaching to coaching, refereeing to sports therapy, we’ll give you the skills to get your career off the starting blocks.

What will I learn

This is a great introductory course to a vast range of new exciting sports which will provide you with various basic sport skills. You will explore how the body works and training for fitness, as well as having the opportunity to lead a training session. You will start to gain new skills, learn new techniques and tactics in a range of sports.

How will I learn

This course offers a wide range of practical and theory sessions which are delivered outdoors and within our indoor sports facilities which include a sports hall and gym. In addition to this you will also take part in theoretical sessions, work placement, enrichment and tutorials.

What's next

On completion of this course you could look to pursue a range of careers such as an: sports coach, personal trainer, physiotherapist, nutritionist or leisure assistant.

Additional Information

Maths and English: Full-time 16-18 year olds who do not have a grade 4/C or above in maths and/or English, will attend weekly sessions with specialist tutors towork towards the relevant qualification(s). This is really useful to support you on your main course and is really valued by employers.

You will have the opportunity to use our gym, sports hall and assault course to improve your fitness.
You will have the opportunity to joinour Football Academy and be able to play competitive football alongside your studies.
We have strong links with local leisure centres and sports clubs who provide work placements, apprenticeships and guest talks.
