What will I learn

This course is aimed at learners wishing to become a personal trainer. In addition to the planning and instruction of both gym-based and personal training programmes, you will learn a rich variety of topics including nutrition, anatomy and physiology for exercise, outdoor fitness and sport conditioning.

How will I learn

This course offers a wide range of practical and theory sessions which are delivered outdoors and within our indoor sports facilities which include a sports hall and gym. In addition to this you will also take part in theoretical sessions, work placement, enrichment and tutorials.

What's next

On completion of this course you could look to pursue a range of careers such as an: sports coach, personal trainer, physiotherapist, nutritionist or leisure assistant.

Additional Information

Maths and English: Full-time 16-18 year olds who do not have a grade 4/C or above in maths and/or English, will attend weekly sessions with specialist tutors towork towards the relevant qualification(s). This is really useful to support you on your main course and is really valued by employers.

You will have the opportunity to use our gym, sports hall and assault course to improve your fitness.
You will have the opportunity to join our Football Academy and be able to play competitive football alongside your studies.
We have strong links with local leisure centres and sports clubs who provide work placements, apprenticeships and guest talks.
