Course overview
This VTCT Level 2 Award is a nationally recognised qualification in Nail Technology and has been specifically designed to develop and enhance practical skills in providing and maintaining nail enhancements using a liquid and powder nail system. The qualification is approved and supported by the Hair and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA). This qualification may lead directly into employment or self-employment in the nail services industry and enable you to provide a range of nail services to your clients.
You will learn how to apply, maintain and remove nail enhancements using a liquid and powder system. You will learn about health and safety, client care and hygiene practices for nail technicians. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to prepare and provide nail enhancements using the acrylic formula.
Course information
Practical assessments will take place, where an assessor will be required to observe you completing the range of nail services required for successful completion of the course. You will also be required to undertake an external assessment in the form of a question paper, set and marked by VTCT.
You may progress onto VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy, or complete further short courses to build up your nail and beauty skill base. This course could assist in helping you to move into employment, or self-employment within the nail industry.
There are no formal entry requirements, however, a formal interview is required before being accepted.

You will learn through both practical and theory lessons, including developing your knowledge of health and safety within a salon environment as well as client care and hygiene. Lessons will be delivered within our industry standard training salons, as well as in our site-based beauty salon, Mosaic. Lessons will be delivered by knowledgeable staff who have many years of experience within the nail industry.
