Course overview

Bricklaying courses at Redcar & Cleveland College are designed to prepare you for work. The courses could be the building blocks of your own career and on completion could put you on the right path to a successful future in the construction industry.

During your time on the bricklaying course, we have various competitions that you can actively take part in, these include Skillbuild, The Guild of Bricklayers Competition and Inter College Competitions. These competitions give you the chance to compete against other colleges and to travel to different parts of the region.

This course will provide you with introductory bricklaying skills. You will learn how to construct brick, block walling and cavity walls. This course will also teach you how to go about setting out for basic masonry and mixing construction materials

Three GCSEs at grade 2 or above or an entry level qualification in a related course.

Course information

On completion of this course you could progress on to our Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying or secure an apprenticeship.

You will be required to wear PPE when carrying out tasks in our bricklaying workshop. PPE is provided free of charge by the College.
