Course overview
Redcar & Cleveland College are proud to be one of only a small number of colleges in the North East to offer full-time plastering courses. You will develop your skills in plastering in our excellent workshops which give you the opportunity to work to a realistic scale. You will also take part in college competitions such as Skill Build and World Skills, plus enjoy trips to British Gypsum, one of the largest Plastering manufacturers in Europe.
Our level 2
course is full of practical sessions which are
supported by theory units. You will learn how
to fix dry lining and plasterboard products to
internal surfaces, forming sand and cement
screeds, positioning and securing fibrous
plaster and understanding construction
technology.
Course information
On completion of this course you could look to pursue a range of careers such as an: plasterer, dry liner, site labourer, project manager or site manager.
4 GCSEs grade 3/D or
above and a level 1 qualification in a related course.
Full-time 16-18
year olds who do not have a grade 4/C or
above in maths and/or English, will attend
weekly sessions with specialist tutors to
work towards the relevant qualification(s).
This is really useful to support you on
your main course and is really valued by
employers.
This course offers a wide range of practical content which is supported by theoretical sessions. You will also take part in work placements, enrichments and tutorials.
