Level 3 Extended Diploma in Policing

Course overview

Our policing courses provide you with the skills, behaviours and knowledge to prrepare you for a career within the police service. We work closely with Cleveland Police and other agencies to really give you the hands on experience of the police service. There will be plenty of exciting parts of this course including trips and guest talks included within this course.

The purpose of this qualification is to provide specialist knowledge, skills and understanding relating to working in the Police force in areas such as career aspirations, leadership skills and equality, diversity and inclusion, which can be applied to current or future employment. The content has been developed with employers, subject experts and Tutors to ensure that it’s relevant to the real world and meets the need of employers as we work closely with Cleveland Police. This qualification is designed to provide learners with an in-depth understanding of the principles of Policing and to allow them to explore the various avenues of work within it. They’ll also allow learners to gain transferable skills that can be applied to the workplace or further study.

4 GCSEs grade 4/C or above including English and maths or a level 2 qualification in a related course.

Course information

This course will provide you with UCAS points to allow you to progress on to higher education to study a range of policing degree programmes, or move into a range of employment opportunities with the police service such as the police constable degree apprenticeship.

Full-time 16-18 year olds who do not have a grade 4/C or above in maths and/ or English, will attend weekly sessions with specialist tutors to work towards the relevant qualification(s). This is really useful to support you on your main course and is really valued by employers.
