On our welding course you will develop theoretical knowledge in health & safety, basic power tools/ hand tools, welding and mechanical principles and engineering maths. Alongside practical training in different engineering industry disciplines including metal cutting, metal inert gas (MIG), tungsten inert gas (TIG), manual metal arc (MMA), welding techniques, non-destructive testing (NDT) and destruction testing techniques (DT).

Carrying out practical assessments and multi-choice tests in a realistic industrial working environment.
On completion of this course, you could progress on to a higher level engineering qualification which could then lead onto an engineering apprenticeship.
Four GCSEs grade 4 or above including English and maths or a level 2 qualification in a related course.*
*If you do not already have an English and maths GCSE grade 4-9, you will continue to work towards this as part of your main programme of study.
