Introduction

The Health and Care sector is growing and is expected to continue growing for many years, and with an aging population it is a vocation that is in demand. Health and Social Care courses at Redcar & Cleveland College is an ideal way to start a career in this extremely rewarding sector. With jobs ranging from nursing to a fully-qualified social worke, this course will put you on the right track.

What will I learn

Our Level 3 Extended Diploma will provide you with in-depth knowledge and skills of the health and social care industry. You will learn about empowerment in health and social care, protection, anatomy and physiology and dementia awareness. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills on our trip to Romania and also complete a work placement during the course.

How will I learn

This course offers a wide range of practical and theory sessions which are delivered in our specialist health and social care wing and classrooms. In addition to this you will also take part in theoretical sessions, work placement, enrichment and tutorials.

What's next

On completion of this course you could look to pursue a range of careers such as an: paramedic, nurse, midwife, radiographer and occupational therapist.

Additional Information

MATHS AND ENGLISH: Full-time 16-18 year olds who do not have a grade 4/C or above in maths and/ or English, will attend weekly sessions with specialist tutors to work towards the relevant qualification(s). This is really useful to support you on your main course and is really valued by employers.

You will have the opportunity to take partin amazing course trips to places such asorphanages in Romania.
We have strong links with local employerswho provide guest talks, work placementsand apprenticeships.
