Well done to all those Redcar and Cleveland College students celebrating their results today.
We caught up with just a few to share their success…
Rachel
Our very own learning support assistant Rachel has achieved a level 6 in her GCSE Maths today! When asked about her result, she said: “It’s important we keep our knowledge up-to-date and I’m over the moon with my result. The tutors have been fantastic and so supportive, it’s been such a great experience.”
Tialeonie
Aspiring paramedic Tialeonie was over the moon with her GCSE Maths result today after receiving a well-deserved grade 4. With plans to apply for a student paramedic position, she said: “The course was amazing and Stephen was a huge support for me. I’m buzzing with the result, especially when I didn’t pass in 2017. I’m looking forward to the opportunities it will bring.”
Natalie
Optical consultant Natalie is over the moon with her grade 5 GCSE Maths result today as it means she can now progress in her career and complete a dispensing opticians’ course. She said: “If I can complete the dispensing opticians’ course it can open a lot of doors for me career wise but in order to do it, I needed my maths GCSE. I was looking for a maths course that would fit around my busy schedule and health issues. When I found out I could study online in my own time through Redcar and Cleveland College, it was perfect. I was surprised by how much support I received from the tutors, they were always available to help. I’m over the moon with my result and can’t wait to show work and start my new course!”
Emily
Full-time, mum-of-two, Emily, 27, has a lot on her plate as she juggles home, work and a history degree, but that wasn’t going to hold her back when it came to achieving her maths GCSE. With the aspiration of becoming an SEN teacher, Emily needed the qualification to progress on to a PGCE. Achieving a grade 4 today, a delighted Emily told us: “I’m over the moon, just so, so happy! I do have a busy schedule but the online course made it so much easier for me to fit everything in. Tina, my tutor, was amazing, she gave me extra lessons when I needed them and took the time to explain things to me and break it down in to steps, this was exactly what I needed. I can now start my PGCE and hopefully in the future, achieve my dream of running my own SEN department.”
