While most schools were out for summer in July 2025, Pam, a dedicated teaching assistant, decided it was time to put her own mind to learning something new. With the mantra, “If I don’t do it now, when will I?,” She took charge of her future.

After researching online and speaking with the team at Redcar and Cleveland College, she enrolled on the fully remote Level 2 Business Administration course - a subject completely new to her. Having spent 25 years in retail before moving into the education sector for the past 18 years, this was a bold step into unfamiliar territory.

Pam embraced the challenge, studying in her own time, and she completed the course in November 2025. Reflecting on her experience, she said: “I've really enjoyed doing the course, it's made me feel that I've achieved so much at an older age.” 

And she isn’t stopping there. She said, “I am enthusiastic about doing another level 3 course now.”
