As a dedicated mum-of-three, Sarah hasn’t had much time to explore what her dream career could be.

As her children started to grow up, Sarah experimented with retail work, cleaning and working as a dinner-lady but none of these jobs really challenged her enough.

Working within the school, Sarah always knew she loved interacting with the children, but it wasn’t until Covid-19 struck and she was forced to home school that she realised her passion for teaching.

Sarah said: “With my children getting older I really wanted to do something for me, I’ve always worked hard and been in employment but nothing I enjoyed enough to call a career. When the pandemic hit, I loved helping my kids at home with their school work and at that point I knew it was something that I could really enjoy and be really good at.

After completing her Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning Sarah has been offered a full time teaching assistant position at her current school and is looking forward to starting her foundation degree.

She added: “The staff at the college were amazing and I loved the courses, I just wish I hadn’t waited so long to do it! Going to work doesn’t feel like work anymore, I just love it.”
