Introduction

If you are a hands-on, practical kind of person and like to get things working, qualifying in a trade might be for you. There are many opportunities to work for large and small companies – or you could become self-employed. The Level 3 Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery is designed to build and advance your skills and knowledge already gained. It will enable you to progress and advance your occupation within the construction industry.

What will I learn

Building on the skills developed at level 2 you will construct more complex structures including a range of roof structures and floors. Our level 3 course combines both theory and practical sessions within our industry standard workshops.

How will I learn

This course offers a wide range of practical content which is supported by theoretical sessions. You will also take part in work placements, enrichments and tutorials.

What's next

On completion of this course you could enter employment or progress on to our construction related higher education courses with the view of moving into site management.

Additional Information

Full-time 16-18 year olds who do not have a grade 4/C or above in Maths and/or English, will attend weekly sessions with specialist tutors to work towards the relevant qualification(s). This is really useful to support you on your main course and is really valued by employers.

We have strong links with local employers who provide guest talks, work placements and apprenticeships.
The construction industry in the Tees Valley is growing which could provide many job opportunities.
