Climbing the property ladder and winning awards

A plumbing and heating apprenticeship at Redcar and Cleveland College proved the right move for Connor.

Now he gets to do a job he loves, and amazingly, the income he received while he learned enabled him to take a significant step in his personal life – buying a house!

Employed by TRD Heating, Connor was awarded Construction Apprentice of the Year, something that he was super proud of. He said: “I was honoured and ecstatic to have won. My apprenticeship is hard work but so enjoyable and rewarding. My employer keeps me motivated, and I look forward to what the future holds – hopefully I continue being successful.”

As part of his course, Connor worked towards completing a gas safety qualification, CCN1, a core aspect of gas safety and mandatory foundation ACS qualification for engineers working on domestic gas appliances, required for legal certification.
