Course overview
This course is aimed at individuals who want to improve their knowledge of SEND. Learners will gain an understanding of the social and medical models of disability, safeguarding an individual with SEND, person centred approaches, the importance of inclusive learning and the impact that stigma has on individuals with SEND.
This qualification covers: Introduction to Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Understand Equality and Diversity in Context of SEND Principles of Promoting a Person-Centred Approach for Individuals with SEND Understanding SEND and Learning Living with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Course information
Assessment involves completion of online units which are completed as distance learning and submitted to the college.
Upon completion of the course, students can apply for other distance learning programmes, use as APL for QCF qualifications where appropriate and use their newly acquired knowledge in practice.
