Course overview
On this Level 2 qualification, you will develop the essential skills, techniques and confidence needed to progress in the make up industry. You will learn how to prepare the skin, apply a range of make up looks and use professional products safely and effectively.
Key areas include:
- Apply make-up
- Instruction on make-up application
- Provide eyelash and brow treatments
- Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
- Follow health and safety practice in the salon
- Provide Eyelash lifting
By the end of the course, you will be able to carry out professional make up services on clients, building skills that are valued in salons, retail, freelancing and events work.

- Practical assessments
- Written/Online exams to assess theory based knowledge
- Assignment work to demonstrate underpinning knowledge
You will be supported throughout to ensure you are fully prepared to meet all learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
4 GCSE Grades 3 or above (including maths & English) or Level 1 Certificate/Diploma in Hairdressing or Beauty
You will be required to purchase a Makeup kit and uniform. This will consist of a combination of tools, materials and equipment required to practice your skills, both in college sessions as well as outside of the classroom.
On campus learning, combining a mixture of practical and theory work.
