At Redcar & Cleveland College, we can teach you the skills you need to launch your hairdressing career. Our salons are open to the public, giving you a hands-on experience as you develop your creative and practical skills.
This course will provide you the skills and knowledge to work as a junior hair stylist. You will learn how to conduct client consultations, cut and style hair, blow drying and colouring ladies’ hair. Practical sessions will be delivered within our industry standard Mosaic hair salon.
Course information
During this course you will assessed through the quality of your service portfolio, practical assessments, exams and an externally graded asessment (graded synoptic assessment).
On completion of this course you could progress on to our Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing or look to secure an apprenticeship.
Four GCSEs grade 3 or above or a level 1 qualification in a related course.
This course offers a wide range of practical and theory sessions which are delivered in our specialist salons and classrooms.In addition to this you will also take part in theoretical sessions, work placement, enrichment and tutorials.
