From teaching to coaching, refereeing to sports therapy, we’ll give you the skills to get your career off the starting blocks.
This course develops the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required for employment in various sporting disciplines such as coaching, teaching, fitness instructing and sports development. You will also cover practical coaching and modules in the field of sports science, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, the working environment and practical team sports.
Course information
On completion of this course you could look to pursue a range of careers such as an: sports coach, personal trainer, physiotherapist, nutritionist or leisure assistant.
Grades 9-4 in four GCSEs (AGCSE 4.50 – 5.00) including English and maths. (Modified course available if students do not achieve Grade 4 in both English and maths.)
Maths and English:
Full-time 16-18 year olds who do not have a grade 4/C or above in maths and/or English, will attend
weekly sessions with specialist tutors towork towards the relevant qualification(s). This is really useful to support you on
your main course and is really valued by employers.
This course offers a wide range of practical and theory sessions which are delivered outdoors and within our indoor sports facilities which include a sports hall and gym. In addition to this you will also take part in theoretical sessions, work placement, enrichment and tutorials.
