Course overview
The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in beauty therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own salon services.
This qualification has been specifically designed to develop knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned by covering the following mandatory units, facial skincare, waxing, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, manicure, pedicure, client care and health and safety.
Underpinning this qualification, you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety practice and you can also choose optional units that cover effective salon reception duties and displaying stock to promote retail sales.
Course information
Your knowledge and understanding in these units will be collected through a portfolio of evidence. Guidance for this will come from your tutors and assessors. Your assessor may also ask questions to confirm your knowledge and understanding.
Your assessor will observe your practical performance in assessments, and your pass grade will be determined by achievement of all necessary assessment criteria and completion of additional performance standards.
On completion of this qualification, you will be able to progress to further your learning onto one of our Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy or Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies.
4 GCSEs grade 3/D or above or a level 1 qualification in a related course.

This course offers a wide range of practical and theory sessions which are delivered in our specialist salons and classrooms. In addition to this you will also take part in work placement within a local salon and also enrichment sessions and activities.
