Course overview
This course is suitable for anyone who holds a Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy and wishes to progress onto a more advanced level. You will complete industry experience in Mosaic, our commercial Beauty salon, which simulates a real work environment.
You may also have the opportunity to undertake work placement in the beauty industry, participate in enrichment activities such as spray tanning and gel polish (optional, may incur an additional cost), and get the chance to visit a beauty exhibition.
This course will build upon existing skills developed at level 2, and you will learn new techniques such as self-tanning,
Swedish massage therapy, hot stone massage, Indian head massage and preblended aromatherapy along with client
customer service skills.
Course information
You will be assessed through the quality of your service portfolio, graded practical assessments, exams and an external graded assessment (graded synoptic assessment).
After you have completed this course you could progress into employment in a range of beauty therapy related roles where you could work in a salon, on a cruise ship or even running your own business.
Four GCSEs grade 4 or above including English and maths and a level 2 qualification in a related course.
You will be required to purchase a beauty kit and uniform which will consist of a combination of tools, materials and equipment required to practice your skills both in college sessions, as well as outside of the classroom.
You will be required to wear a uniform for all practical lessons and a kit is essential to aid successful completion of this course. These costs will be discussed at interview.
This course offers a wide range of practical and theory sessions which are delivered in our specialist salons and classrooms.
In addition to this you will also take part in theoretical sessions, work placement, enrichment and tutorials.
