Foundation Certificate in Accounting Level 2 (AAT)

Course overview

The AAT is recognised throughout the business world as a credible and established professional body. It is a qualification which accurately reflects competence in the workplace and continues to bear the hallmarks of quality and high standards.

Initially you will complete a five-week introduction to AAT. This will include an Access Award to bookkeeping L1 (at no further cost). You will be required to fully achieve this award before progressing to the full level 2 certificate.

This is a course for Trainee Accountancy Technicians and those individuals who have an interest in pursuing a career in Accountancy.

  • Introduction to bookkeeping
  • Principles of bookkeeping controls
  • Principles of costing
  • The business environment

<p>You are required to register with the Association for Accounting Technicians (AAT). This course is for anyone who would like to learn accounts or who is setting up their own business. Good numeracy and communication skills are essential. A grade 5 GCSE maths is required if you are aged 16-18. We will discuss this with you on interview. If you have no background or experience in Accountancy we advise starting at Level 1.</p><p>£1200 course fees or **Discuss with your tutor as you may be exempt**</p><p>£50 resit fee for any exam that needs to be retaken (no exemption)</p>

Course information

There are four computer-based assessments, one for each unit. The fifth assessment is a synoptic assessment covering all four units.
